The Northern Sierra Dutch Oven Group is hosting its 2nd Annual Nevada State Dutch Oven Championship at Sportsman's Warehouse, our group sponsor. The cook-off will follow IDOS competition rules. The winner may be invited to compete at IDOS' world championship in March 2014.
Competition will be a three-pot format (main dish, bread and dessert). Only an Adult division can compete (ages 18+). Competitors may compete as individuals or in teams. Competition is limited to 20 teams. Competitors must provide their own ingredients, charcoal, equipment, and shelter (canopy).
Cash prizes will be awarded as follows: Adult: $1,000 1st place; $500 2nd place; $250 3rd place
Set-up begins at 8:00 a.m. Cooks meeting is at 8:30 a.m. Breads must be turned in no later than 11 a.m. Main dishes must be turned in no later than 12 p.m. Desserts must be turned in no later than 1 p.m.
